Pins named Wartburg women's soccer coach
Wartburg athletic director Rick Willis announced Wednesday, Jan. 19, that Tiffany (Treanor) Pins is the school’s new women’s soccer head coach.
Pins, a 2005 graduate of Wartburg, has been an assistant coach at Denison since July 2007. She takes over for Sara Johnson who left earlier this month to be the head coach at Carthage.
"I would like to thank Rick Willis and the Wartburg College community for giving me this opportunity,” Pins said. “I am excited to return to my alma mater and look forward to coaching a talented group of young women."
While playing and coaching under former head coach Jim Conlon, she was part of a strong Knights’ incline. The three-time program Most Valuable Player and 2004 all-Iowa Conference honoree starred on squads that won 10 or more matches twice including a 16-3-1 mark during her senior season. As an assistant, she helped lead two teams that reached 10-or-more victories including a 14-6 mark in 2005.
That theme continued at Denison. During her stay, the school reached the Elite Eight this past fall as part of three NCAA Division III tournament berths. The program also won two regular season and one North Coast Athletic Conference tournament title.
“We are excited to welcome Tiffany back to Wartburg,” Willis said. “She is passionate about the program and the college. Tiffany is extremely well-prepared for this opportunity and will provide outstanding leadership and continuity for the women’s soccer program.”
