On Tuesday afternoon at York College in Pennsylvania, the No. 7 Spartans defeated top-ranked Messiah College 1-0. It was the first shut-out of the Falcons since the 2011 post-season, and the win was York's first over Messiah since 2009.

In a match that had level play throughout, it was a long 30 yard ball from sophomore Brendan Saberton at 44:18 of the match that made the difference. The visiting Falcons managed 14 shots with five on target, while the hosts had 12 shots with six on goal. Messiah sophomore Brandon West and York junior Brad Schmidt each had five saves in the match. With the win, York improves to 7-1, while Messiah drops to 8-1.

No.11 Loras hosted No.19 Wheaton (Ill.), blanking the Thunder 2-0, while No. 14 Ohio Northern edged Defiance 1-0. No. 21 Tufts battled Plymouth State through two overtimes but settled for 0-0 draw.

Elsewhere, Juniata improved to 8-1-1 with their 4-0 shut-out of Penn State-Altoona, and North Central (Ill.) and Central centered on a 1-1 draw in Pella, Iowa.
