No. 24 Wartburg wins, Kenyon men upset No. 12 ONU

Friday's NCAA tournament action started early with women's matches at Wheaton (Ill.) getting started at 11:00 am. Wheaton also hosted a men's pod, along with Wartburg. Washington University hosted the other women's pod.
At Wheaton, the No. 6 Thunder women blanked Webster 4-0, with sophomore Ally Witt scoring two goals in the first half. Sophomore Annie Wooldridge and junior Bailey Wysocki added goals in the second.
No. 19 Loras shutout St. Benedict 2-0. Duhawk sophomore Katie Truesdale scored twice to send Loras to the second round against Wheaton on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Earlier in the season, the Thunder were 4-1 winners over Loras in a match played at Wheaton.
At Washington University, the top-ranked hosts came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat St. Norbert 5-2. The Bears will play No. 17 Calvin, 1-0 double overtime winners over No. 16 Aurora. Sophomore Paige Capel scored the game winner in the 106th minute. Saturday's match is scheduled for 5:00 pm.

At Wartburg, No. 24 Wartburg cruised past Dominican 4-0, while Hope edged No. 16 UW-Oshkosh 2-1.
In the Wheaton men's pod, the No. 16 Thunder defeated Thomas More 2-1, and Kenyon upset No. 12 Ohio Northern 2-0. Kenyon junior Sam Justice scored in the fifth minute on an asisst by Rei Mitsuyama for the ultimate game winner. Sophomore Jeremiah Barnes scored again in the second, assisted by Tony Amolo. The Polar Bears outshot Kenyon 13-9, but more telling, had a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal. Lords junior Sam Clougher had eight saves on the day, as the Lords now face host Wheaton on Saturday at 5:00 pm.
