The Mount Ida athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Gregory Hagan as women's soccer coach effective immediately.

"I'm honored and privileged to be named head coach for the women's soccer program at my alma mater," said Hagan. "I look forward to working with a tremendous athletic department staff at Mount Ida that is goal oriented, diligent, hard working, and committed to building successful programs at the college."

Hagan comes off a one year stint as assistant coach with the program this past 2011 season. Hagan, who is a 2009 graduate from Mount Ida and a two year player for the men's soccer program, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management. Hagan also graduated with an Associate's in Science with a concentration in Sport Management from Dean College in 2006.

Prior to Mount Ida, Hagan was the assistant women's soccer coach at Massachusetts Maritime Academy for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Before his time with the Buccaneers, he was a student assistant with the Mount Ida men's soccer team under the direction of former head coach Steve D'Arcy.

Hagan has some experience in athletics administration as the Assistant Sports Information Director during the summer of 2008 with fifth year Sports Information Director Greg Antonelli.

"My vision going forward on a year-to-year basis is to continue to see the program grow and better itself over the next several years," said Hagan. "With the current members of the team and a high level of talent coming in for 2012, I see success on the horizon."

I'm looking to accomplish our goals, make strides as a program, and most importantly, watch all of my student-athletes walk across the stage in May to receive their diploma," said Hagan.
