FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 3, DEAN 1

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Madison Taylor (Longmeadow, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and an assist for five points as Massachusetts Maritime presented Head Coach Yvonna Press with her first career victory in a 3-1 non-league college women's soccer triumph over Dean Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Goals by Taylor and sophomore Brantley Collins (Glen Allen, Va.) that came six minutes apart staked the host Buccaneers (1-2) to a 2-0 lead nearly 23 minutes into the contest, but the visiting Bulldogs (0-3) sliced that margin in half in the 30th minute when freshman Tatiana Santos (Cambridge, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal on a feed from senior Emma Morrison (Northport, N.Y.).  That margin held up until the 69th minute when Taylor provided an insurance tally by converting a pass from freshman Bianca Mark (San Juan, P.R.) for her second of the night and third of the season to account for the final score.

Taylor set up Collins's eventual game-winner in the victory for Massachusetts Maritime, which received a helper from junior Brittany Munson (Tolland, Mass.) on the first score of the match.  Sophomore Sara Coffey (Norton, Mass.) picked up the win in goal with a four-save effort for the Buccaneers, while sophomore Macy Parisee (East Freetown, Mass.) made 11 stops in the setback for Dean.  The hosts outshot the Bulldogs by an 18-8 margin overall (14-5 on goal) and took four of the five corner kicks on the evening in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Fitchburg State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Dean travels to Chicopee, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Elms in its New England Collegiate Conference opener beginning at 1:00 p.m.
