Late Goal Lifts Baruch Over Brooklyn
The Baruch College Bearcats stayed undefeated at 5-0 in the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) following a 1-0 home win over the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Saturday morning at Randall's Island.
The Bearcats controlled most of the midfield and out-shot the Bulldogs 10-0 at halftime.
The two teams had their chances in the second half, but the Bearcats broke through with two minutes remaining as Adonis Martinez headed in a free kick into the box by Alexey Arefev for the lone goal in the 88th minute.
The Bearcats finished out-shooting the Bulldogs, 19-3, forcing goalkeeper Balint Barabas into making seven saves.
Cormac Foley and Javier Arellano Crespo each had five shots. Martinez finished with three shots.
With the win, the Bearcats also stretch their win streak to four and are 5-1 in their last six matches.
