Cal Lutheran Knocks Off No. 19 Redlands in OT
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran's Kaitlin Walters broke a scoreless tie 92 seconds into the first overtime period during the team's home debut against No. 19 Redlands. The win ended an eight year winless drought in Regals home openers and keeps CLU atop the SCIAC standings.

Cal Lutheran outshout Redlands 22-7 overall earning most of that advantage in the first half firing off 13 shots to just a pair by the Bulldogs. The Regals fired off eight more shots in the second half, but it took the first and only shot of extra time to decide the game.
Regals goalkeeper Renee Standage improved her record to 3-0 and earned first collegiate solo shutout making three saves in the process.
CLU forward Kristina Hulse led all players with eight shots and took more shot attempts herself than the entire UR team. The Regals were able to create multiple scoring opportunities earning nine corner kicks to only two for the Bulldogs.
Saturday's win is the second this season over a ranked opponent after CLU defeated then ranked No. 24 Puget Sound back on Sept. 5.
Cal Lutheran (5-1-0, 2-0-0 SCIAC) will go on the road for a non-conference meeting with Chapman on Monday, Sept. 19 on 5 p.m.
