Women's Soccer downs Olivet 2-0
Olivet, Mich. - In their first game of the season, the MSOE Raiders come out on top of host Olivet 2-0 in the opening match of the Comets Classic. Freshman Anna O'Donnell (Plainfield, Ill./North HS) had the teams first goal and picked up an assist on the Raiders second score.
In the first half, the Raiders were outshot by the Olivet Comets 5-to-2, but neither team could score. Just nine minutes into the second half, O'Donnell's unassisted goal put the Raiders in the lead. MSOE's second and final goal came at 71:08 of the game on a shot from Paula Bohl (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) with the assist from O'Donnell. Olivet outshot MSOE 10-6 in the second half, but the Raider's veteran goalkeeper Emma Lumpe (Lawrence, Kan./Lawrence) collected seven saves preserving a shutout for the game.
At the Comet Classic, MSOE faces Trine in the 3:00p.m. Saturday afternoon contest.
