The Centre women's soccer team picked up its third consecutive 1-0 win, this one coming over Millsaps in a Southern Athletic Association game Sunday in Jackson, Miss.
The Colonels moved to 3-0 in SAA competition in similar fashion to their first two conference games, with a single goal in the second half. This time, the game-winner came from Katie Stevenson (Flat Rock, N.C.), who scored on a header on a double assist from Shelby Ratcliff (Georgetown, Ky.) and Rachel Geil (Lexington, Ky.).
The shutout was the ninth of the year and third in a row for Centre, which leads the conference with a 0.56 goals against average.
Centre took 13 shots to four for Millsaps in the contest and held the Majors to just two shots on goal. The Colonels also held a 3-1 edge on corners.
With the win, Centre moves to 9-4-1 overall and 3-0 in SAA play while Millsaps falls to 3-9-1 on the season with an 0-2-1 conference mark. The Colonels are on the road again next weekend with a trip to Oglethorpe on Saturday.
