Gonzalez, Singer Lead Balanced Attack in 12-0 Victory

ROANOKE, VA – Senior Jessie Gonzalez and sophomore Morgan Singer scored a pair of goals each as the 13th-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeated Hollins University 12-0 Tuesday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Lynchburg pulled out to an early lead on a pair of Gonzalez goals in the first 13 minutes coming off assists from Jenn Snyder and Rachel Sadowski. Five different Hornets (Jade Woll, Dessi Dupuy, Sarah Schrader, Elizabeth Oden, and Singer) rounded out the scoring in the first half to pull away, 7-0.

Singer added her second score at 84:27 in the second half off Mary Beier's second assist of the game.

Kara Schaffer, Nicole Kopsidas, Alexis Jensen, and Marina Clark also scored for the Hornets in the final half.

Dana Nelsen, Angela Bosco, Gabbiy Soares, Oden, Anne Neville Broaddus, and Woll all picked up assists for the Hornets.

Tess Frelick made a save for the Hornets. Karsen Schottleutner and Brooke Thompson also received at least 20 minutes in goal. Megan Mckee and Christina Havrila made eight saves each for Hollins (4-8/3-5).

Lynchburg outshot Hollins 47-2 and maintained an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Lynchburg (14-1/8-0) returns to Shellenberger Field for Homecoming and Senior Night against Eastern Mennonite University (9-4/4-3) Friday at 7 p.m.
